It can be a good choice if a standardised store environment and a wide range of ready-made e-commerce features matter to your company, and you have no need to maintain the platform's server infrastructure yourself.
WooCommerce - for flexibility and WordPress contentWooCommerce is an open-source e-commerce solution for WordPress. We consider it when the store is closely tied to the website's content, when wider customisation is needed or when greater control over the technical solution and its development matters to the company.
Custom development - when a standard platform limits the processIf the business model needs specific B2B pricing logic, a non-standard order flow or tight integrations, we assess a custom solution. What determines the cost of building an online store?
The cost is determined by more than the number of products or the platform chosen. The main factors are:
- the complexity of the store and the purchase process,
- the volume of product data and how ready it is for import,
- integrations with payment, delivery, warehouse, accounting, ERP and other systems,
- custom business logic, such as B2B prices, customer groups, subscriptions or non-standard order flows.
That is why we do not price a store as one universal package. We first talk through the sales process, the catalogue and the integrations, then define the scope of the project and prepare a proposal. This lets you compare the initial development price and also how well the chosen solution will suit your company's day-to-day work and future development.
How quickly can an online store be launched?
The timeline depends on the scope of the store, how ready the product data is, the complexity of the design and functionality, the integrations and the preparation of content. Once the requirements have been talked through, we split the project into stages and can give a well-founded estimate of the launch date.
How do we choose between Shopify and WooCommerce?
The size of the store is not the only factor. Shopify can be suitable if a standardised hosted e-commerce environment matters and you want less involvement in maintaining the platform's infrastructure. We consider WooCommerce when the store is closely tied to WordPress content and wider technical customisation is needed. Before making a recommendation we also look at the integrations, the markets, the catalogue and the plans for future development.
Can you move an existing store to another platform?
Yes. Before a migration we assess the existing store's products, customer and order data, integrations, URL structure and SEO risks. We establish what can be moved safely and what needs reworking. Keeping SEO positions cannot be guaranteed, so in a migration we plan addresses, redirects and technical SEO with particular care.
Will the store work on a phone?
Yes. We adapt the store's interface to different screens and, before launch, test the main purchase actions on mobile devices as well - browsing products, the cart, the forms, payment and the order flow.
