Data controller
The website createit.lv is operated by Digibold SIA (registration no. 40203187705, registered office: Miera iela 39-19, Riga, LV-1001, Latvia), which also processes personal data within the scope of this website. You can contact us about the processing of personal data at info@createit.lv or on +371 29 991 888.
What data we may process
- Communication and project enquiry data - for example, your name, email address, company, phone number, project description and the files you attach or other information.
- Newsletter subscription data - your email address, information relating to your sign-up or unsubscribing, and data on opening the newsletter and clicking its links, if you subscribe to the CreateIT newsletter.
- Technical and usage data - information that the website, the server and permitted analytics tools may record about requests, your device, your browser and how you use the website.
- Cookie and consent data - information about your choices regarding cookies and other technologies, if these are used on the website.
Why we process data
We process personal data to receive and consider your requests, to communicate with you about a possible or existing collaboration, to keep the website running and secure, to comply with the obligations set out in laws and regulations and to send you the CreateIT newsletter if you have subscribed to it. The specific legal basis depends on the circumstances of the processing and may be the performance of a contract or steps taken before entering into a contract, a legal obligation, our legitimate interests or your consent.
Cookies and analytics
Technologies that are necessary for the website to work may be used without separate consent if applicable law permits it. Where analytics or marketing technologies require consent, we use them in accordance with the choice you have made. If such technologies are used, you can change or withdraw your consent using the cookie settings available on the website.
With your consent, the website loads Google Tag Manager, through which, depending on your choice, Google Analytics (visitor statistics) and Google Ads (measuring advertising results and remarketing ads) run, as well as Microsoft Clarity (analysis of how the website is used, with heatmaps and session recordings). Without consent, these tools are not loaded. The cookies used on the website, their purpose and how long they are kept are listed at the end of this page, and you can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer.
The CreateIT newsletter
If you subscribe to the CreateIT newsletter, we keep your email address and language, and a record of your sign-up with the consent text you ticked, the page you signed up on, and the time and IP address of the sign-up. We then send you an email with a confirmation link, and the newsletter only goes to confirmed addresses. The time and IP address of the confirmation are added to the record.
We send the newsletter on the basis of your consent, which you give when you subscribe. It also covers measuring opens and clicks, described below. We keep the record of your sign-up, confirmation and unsubscribing so that we can show that consent was given and when it was withdrawn.
The newsletter is sent from a newsletter system that we run ourselves on our hosting partner's servers in Germany, and it is delivered by Amazon SES in the European Union.
To understand what our readers are interested in and to improve the newsletter, we measure whether you open it and whether you click its links. For this, the email contains an invisible image and the links go through the newsletter system, which records the time and number of opens and clicks. We do not keep the IP address or browser data. Links to our website carry a campaign tag, so that the website's analytics, if you allow it in the cookie settings, can see that a visit came from the newsletter. We are also told if an email could not be delivered or was marked as spam, and in that case the address is unsubscribed.
You can unsubscribe at any time with the link at the end of every newsletter email or with the "Unsubscribe" button of your email app, or by writing to info@createit.lv. Once you unsubscribe, we no longer send you the newsletter or measure anything. If you want the newsletter without measurement, open the unsubscribe link and choose "Turn measurement off", or write to us. From then on we measure neither new nor earlier emails.
Data recipients and service providers
Personal data may be accessible to the service providers we use for website maintenance and for hosting, email, analytics, security or other necessary technical functions. Data is transferred to these recipients only to the extent necessary to provide the relevant service or to comply with a legal obligation. We do not sell personal data.
These are the service providers we currently use.
- Cloudflare, Inc. - delivering and protecting the website, and protecting the forms against spam with Cloudflare Turnstile, which uses technical signals such as the IP address and browser data to tell a person from an automated program. We use it in our legitimate interest of keeping the forms from being misused. How Turnstile processes data is described in the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
- Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL - sending the e-mails of the website forms and the CreateIT newsletter (Amazon SES).
- Google Ireland Limited - our e-mail (Google Workspace) and, with your consent, Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads.
- Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited - Microsoft Clarity, analysis of how the website is used, with your consent.
- Our hosting partner, whose servers in Germany (European Union) run the website and the newsletter system.
Data transfers outside the European Economic Area
Using certain technologies or service providers may mean that personal data is processed outside the European Economic Area. If this happens, we apply the data protection mechanisms and requirements applicable to that situation.
Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft and Amazon are US companies or their subsidiaries, so data may also be processed in the United States. These companies are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep data
We do not keep data for longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it was obtained or to comply with applicable legal obligations. The retention period may vary depending on the type of data, the stage of the collaboration, the contractual relationship, security needs and the periods set out in laws and regulations.
We keep the record of your cookie choice for 3 years, so that we can show what consent was given.
Newsletter sign-ups that are not confirmed are deleted after 30 days. While you receive the newsletter, we keep your address, the record of your sign-up and the history of the emails sent to you with their open and click data. After you unsubscribe, we keep this data for 10 more years, the general limitation period for claims in Latvia, so that we can show the consent, its withdrawal and what we sent and when. Then it is deleted, and the newsletter system keeps only an irreversible code derived from the address, so that the address is not added again by mistake. If you ask us to erase your data, we delete both the record and the address in the newsletter system, and only such an irreversible code remains.
Your rights
Under the applicable data protection rules, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, its rectification or erasure and the restriction of processing; to object to certain processing; to receive the data in a portable format; and to withdraw consent if the processing is based on it. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
If you consider that the processing of personal data does not comply with the applicable requirements, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).
How to contact us
Please send questions or requests about the processing of personal data to info@createit.lv or call +371 29 991 888. To protect personal data, we may ask you for the information needed to verify your identity or confirm your rights before we act on certain requests.
